CASUAL EASTER OUTFITS
Easter weekend brings a delightful mix of celebration and preparation, and the days before Easter Sunday often involve sprucing up your home for the festivities. Whether you’re cleaning, decorating, or setting the stage for family traditions, or just looking for a feeling that is less about formality and more about fun, here are two casual Easter outfits - Easter Saturday outfits - comfortable Easter outfits you will adore.
Embrace the laid-back vibe and enjoy the holiday with a more relaxed and comfortable outfit.
Both of these casual easter outfits are designed to keep you at ease during busy tasks while still reflecting the season’s cheerful vibe. From painting Easter eggs, baking Easter cookies to attending a basket blessing, these comfortable Easter outfits ensure you’re ready for every moment without sacrificing a festive touch.
Picture yourself on Easter Saturday morning, the air buzzing with anticipation as you start your day. You roll out of bed, brush your teeth, take a shower, grab a warm mug of matcha latte, and slip into a cozy yet chic outfit that sets the tone for your home preparations.
With a hair pin completing the look, you fly through your to-do list, transforming your space into a welcoming bunny land, all while feeling effortlessly put-together.
So where should we start? You're bustling around, adding those final touches—arranging vibrant spring blooms, setting the table with your cherished linens, and perhaps even hiding a few extra chocolate eggs for the little ones.
No, wait! We need to start with Easter eggs. Let's paint the eggs first.
1 WHITE LACE CARDIGAN ON A WHITE T-SHIRT WITH BUTTER YELLOW SHORTS AND POINTY FLATS
So imagine sitting at your kitchen table (pov or wherever - you will find me at my tea table in the red salon in the video below - the kitchen table was occupied by mother making potica - don't ask). Anyway, back to you - wherever you are. The morning sun streams through the kitchen window, painting the room in a warm, golden light. Dust motes dance in the single ray that pierces the gloom, illuminating the floating particles like tiny stars.
The air carries a faint whiff of the sweet perfume of spring flowers blooming in a vase nearby, mingling with fresh coffee or matcha latte - yes, it's probably matcha latte, but at this point it's hard to tell, you are focused on transforming hard boiled eggs into miniature works of art.
A stack of patterned papers lies scattered across the table and you carefully select a delicate floral print. You gently press the paper onto the egg, smoothing it out with a brush.
The door creaks open suddenly, and your sister steps into the room, her phone already in hand. “Hold still,” she says, her voice bright with excitement. “I need a photo of you in those shorts—they’re too cute!” She raises the phone, snapping a quick shot before you can protest, her grin wide and teasing.
You glance down at the butter yellow shorts. “Thanks,” you say, a smile tugging at your lips. “I found them on Brunette from Wall Street.”
“They’re perfect,” she agrees, stepping closer to peek at your work. “And they are in butter yellow! Did you know this is the color of the season?”
Before you can answer, your hand shifts—a little too quickly—and the egg you’ve been decorating slips from your fingers. It tumbles to the table with a soft thud and rolls, wobbling toward the edge. Your breath catches, but your sister’s reflexes are faster.
SHOES: Malone Souliers flat mules - I bought mine a while ago - they were part of an exclusive collection and sold out within days. But you can shop for similar Malone Souliers flat mules here. Make sure you size up. I bought mine in size EU36.5 - I went up for half of the size, and I feel they could be slightly bigger. Don't get me wrong, they fit me and they are super comfortable to walk in (they also stretched a little bit - not something I would need as I don't have wide feet), but when I move the camera around, I see the heel looking out more than I would like. I was told that this is the designer's choice, but still, go a half of your size up.
CARDIGAN: white lace cardigan - I bought this cardigan in Miami ages ago and no, you can’t get it online. Sadly, I really wish you were able to get the same cardigan. Apart from being boujee, it’s also made of silk-cotton blend. Well, this one comes close.
TOP: white T-shirt - buy here.
SHORTS: butter yellow shorts - I bought mine recently, but they are already sold out and that is OK - I don’t think I would want you to buy them anyway. They are made of a fabric that is way too thin. Shop for these shorts or these shorts instead.
HAIR ACCESSORIES: pear hair pin - shop for similar here.
*When styling this casual Easter outfit, I focused on layering principles that create visual interest while maintaining the symbolism of the holiday. The white lace cardigan over a simple white t-shirt demonstrates the styling technique of monochromatic layering—using different textures in the same color family to add dimension without complexity. This approach works beautifully for Easter because white represents purity and resurrection, core symbols of the holiday's spiritual meaning.
I paired the white layers with butter yellow shorts following the color theory principle of adjacent harmony—whites and soft yellows naturally complement each other while evoking classic Easter imagery. The yellow specifically references Easter symbols like spring daffodils, and the morning sunrise of Easter Sunday.
For the silhouette, I balanced the more delicate, feminine lace of the cardigan with the A-style shorts—a styling principle that creates equilibrium between decorative and functional elements.
The pointy flats complete the outfit following the styling rule of proportional completion—they echo the more refined elements of the lace while remaining practical enough for a day of Easter preparations. Their streamlined shape balances the short shorts, creating a harmonious line from top to bottom.
The outfit doesn't just look pretty; it's constructed with intention, balancing Easter's symbolic elements with the latest fashion trends. As mentioned, butter yellow is the color of spring 2025.
2 MINI BUTTER YELLOW EASTER DRESS WITH POINTY FLAT MULES AND HEADBAND
With the kitchen table finally empty - pov, even if not - you don't actually need all that space, just a Kitchenaid artisan mixer and a little work space, it is time to bake Easter cookies.
Make your pick!
*These are the Easter cookies I baked last year.
There’s no sugar in my recipe (I swap it out for elderflower syrup *on popular request: this is my recipe - we make it at home and it’s super easy to make - So, you need 30 elderflowers, 3 l of water, 6 lemons, 2 kg of sugar. 1) Boil the sugar and water and cool. 2) Cut the lemons into thin slices and soak them together with the elderflowers in the previously prepared syrup base. Leave everything to soak and ferment for 48 hours. 3) Strain and put into dark bottles up to the top of the neck, otherwise the syrup will boil. Another warning: never use plastic bottles.).
Now back to the cookies. There are no artificial sprinkles either on my cookies (I sprinkle cookies with crushed dehydrated raspberries and pistachios) —just the pure, simple flavors you love.
And a lot of butter and vanilla, so let the scent of cold butter and vanilla enter your nostrils now.
Sunlight streams through the window, painting stripes of light across the gleaming countertops.
You cut the butter and throw it into butter yellow KitchenAid. And yes, it has to be butter yellow to match your new dress - links below, obviously.
The butter becomes fluffy quickly. And you need to scrape down the sides of the bowl, before you add an egg. No, wait, I'm not giving you my favourite cookie recipe - you can watch the video before you reach for your mother’s old plastic cookie press.
It’s faded and a little frayed, the pastel handle scratched from years of use, but it still works perfectly. You can almost feel her presence as you load the dough into it. Pov, she is actually standing behind you and taking photos of you. "This one is for the album!"
OK, I will stop with this photo plots - but you will want to have photos of you in every Easter outfit I put together for you.
So, back to the plot.
You slip one cookie off the tray—a tiny, still-warm, and pop it into your mouth.
The doorbell chimes loudly—perhaps a friend or family member-who knows, let's go and open the door.
SHOES: Malone Souliers flat mules - shop for similar Malone Souliers flat mules here.
DRESS: Self Portrait mini butter yellow dress - buy here (US) or here (the rest of the world). Now tell me, isn’t this the prettiest dress yet? I sure think so. For me, it was love at first sight, and before I knew I was confirming my purchase. Luckily I know my credit card by heart. And I know you will love it as much as I do, too. *Take your normal size. It doesn’t run super large on me, but it stretches a little bit, so I know it will fit you perfectly.
ACCESSORIES: OK, I won't gatekeep where I bought my headband even though I don't get a commission for your purchase at Boho headwear. But Špela, the designer, is my friend, so I’m happy to promote her business. Also, she makes the most comfortable headbands yet. I can wear the headbands she makes all day long.

*When putting together this Easter outfit, I carefully considered both function and SS25 fashion trends in every element. The mini butter yellow dress is the perfect foundation piece, incorporating the color principle of symbolic resonance—butter yellow directly connects to traditional Easter colors representing hope, joy, and new beginnings and again, this is the color of the season.
I selected a mini length following the styling principle of practical elegance—short enough to move freely around your kitchen while baking Easter treats, yet polished enough to answer the door for deliveries or welcome early-arriving family. This silhouette is the ideal balance between festive and functional, essential for pre-holiday activities that blend work with celebration.
The pointy flat mules complement this outfit using the styling concept of elevated comfort. The slip-on design makes them practical for a day moving between kitchen and living spaces. And the absence of a back strap in mules follows the Easter principle of ease and openness—symbolically welcoming the new season without constraint.
I completed the look with a headband to keep the hair away from your face while baking special Easter cookies.
This entire outfit works cohesively because the shorter hemline of the mini dress works harmoniously with flat shoes rather than heels, creating a lengthening effect on the legs while maintaining a casual, comfortable feel appropriate for home.
Now, we don't know who was at the door - but I guess it was your neighbour coming to take you to the church.
3 BOMBER JACKET ON FLORAL BLOUSE WITH FULL MIDI BUTTER YELLOW SKIRT AND KITTEN HEEL PUMPS
The doorbell rings just as you tie the final ribbon around your Easter basket. You glance through the window and spot your neighbor’s smiling face. “Ready to spread some spring cheer?” she calls.
You step outside, the midi skirt of your outfit swirling around your calves like cherry blossom petals caught in a breeze. The floral blouse beneath your cropped bomber jacket is a garden in motion as you head toward your friends’ homes. The plan is simple but meaningful: deliver Easter baskets and share the holiday’s warmth.
At the first house, your friend flings open the door, her eyes lighting up at the sight of you. “That outfit is adorable!” she exclaims, taking in the floral blouse and the way the midi skirt flares as you give a little twirl. “It’s perfect for today.” You laugh, handing her the basket. “Happy Easter! I thought you’d like the cookies—they’re my favorite to bake this time of year.”
After a few more stops, you head toward the church. Ha, we actually skip friends and go straight to the church - but you might do both - for the plot.
Anyway, as you draw near the church, a mix of reverence and excitement bubbles up inside you. The priest stands at the entrance, his robes catching the breeze, his smile kind and inviting. You step forward, the basket suddenly feeling weighty with purpose.
“Happy Easter, Father,” you say softly, offering the basket with a small dip of your head. He nods, his hands tracing a gentle arc as he blesses it, his murmured prayer wrapping the moment in peace. The eggs, the ham, the horseradish and the round cake—all of it takes on a quiet holiness.
You thank him, stepping back with a smile as the sun continues to shine, warm and bright. The breeze dances through your blouse’s floral patterns, and your kitten pumps carry you away, with the blessed basket in your hand. Now can we eat?
SHOES: Valentino rockstud kitten heel pumps - buy here. I love mine. They are so comfortable and easy to walk in.
JACKET: white and black bomber jacket - also sold out. And you want to shop for the coolest bomber jacket anyway, so we can agree, it’s OK.
BLOUSE: high neck floral blouse - mine is sold out and I know you will love this one more.
SKIRT: butter yellow full midi skirt - shop for similar here. Or get this tulle butter yellow skirt.
*When creating this Easter basket delivery outfit, I deliberately paired structured and flowing pieces to balance formality with movement. The white bomber jacket works brilliantly with the full midi skirt following the styling principle of contrasting silhouettes—the jacket's sporty, structured shape offsets the feminine fullness of the skirt, creating visual interest while maintaining a cohesive look appropriate for both church basket blessings and friendly visits.
The white color of the bomber jacket symbolically connects to Easter's themes of purity, resurrection, and new beginnings. Whether embellished with subtle black floral embroidery or left clean and minimal, the white bomber is a modern interpretation of Easter's traditional white garments.
I layered the bomber over a floral blouse applying the styling principle of thematic continuity—the flowers in the blouse directly reference Easter's celebration of spring renewal and rebirth. The floral pattern creates a natural bridge between the solid white jacket and the butter yellow skirt, unifying the outfit while incorporating key Easter symbolism of blossoming new life.
The butter yellow midi skirt anchors this outfit with practical and symbolic considerations. The full silhouette follows the styling rule of appropriate movement—providing enough fabric to gracefully enter the church or show at your friends' doors while delivering Easter baskets. The buttery yellow shade references traditional Easter symbols like spring daffodils, and the golden light of Easter morning, directly connecting your attire to the holiday's meaningful imagery.
I completed the look with kitten heel pumps, carefully chosen through the styling principle of occasion-appropriate elevation. The modest heel height is slightly dressier than flats to show respect for religious basket blessing ceremonies, yet comfortable enough for walking between multiple friends' homes when delivering Easter treats. The refined shape of the pumps complements the skirt's full silhouette without competing for attention.
