Can’t wait for Mother’s Day 2025? Neither can I! Even though I see my mom every day and I am not a mother myself, I just can’t wait for Mother’s Day 2025. And our brunch! We have everything planned already – our outfits, the table at our favourite cafeteria, the gifts, everything, really.
After our favourite brunch spots have been locked down for so long (they all went through a renovation at the same time), any future brunch feels worthy of celebrating – especially a Mother’s Day brunch.

MOTHER’S DAY OUTFITS FOR MOM
Here are three Mother’s Day outfits for moms I have picked for my mom – one for Sunday brunch and another for our Friday lunch. And 2 Mother’s Day matching outfits for me if I happen to decide to dress up for Mommy and me Mother’sDay dress code.
1 RED SHORT DRESS WITH KITTEN HEEL SLINGBACK PUMPS
First, a short red dress with pumps my mom will wear for our Mother’s Day lunch on Friday. Of course, it has to be red. Red looks so well on my mother. Pov, this hue of red looks great on everyone.
Now imagine, how the morning breaks softly outside your window, throwing a gentle light into your room. The insistent chirping of your phone pierces the dream where you’re chasing butterflies through a field of wildflowers. You groan, reaching over to silence the alarm. Sunlight spills generously through the curtains, painting warm stripes across your eyelids. It’s Friday, and a different kind of excitement butterflies in your stomach – Mother’s Day lunch with your mom!
It’s Mother’s Day weekend, and today is the day you’ve been planning for.
You stretch luxuriously, do your quick yoga/pilates in your bed before throwing off the covers, and hitting the bathroom. Brushing your teeth, you can almost taste the sweetness of your dreams. But it’s the warm water of the shower that washes away the remnants of sleep, leaving you feeling invigorated. Pov, your new Chanel Coco Mademoiselle shower gel and the Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Fresh Deodorant Spray you use before you put on your underwear do the trick, too.
Humming along to a song playing softly on your phone you head to the vanity. Makeup time! You take your time here, applying sunscreen (I’m using Chanel UV Essentiel SPF50 – not as satisfied with it as with Dior Snow SPF50 butthey don’t make that one anymore) and a light foundation to even out your skin tone (btw, I’m using Chanel Sublimage le Teint now). A touch of blush adds a hint of color to your cheeks.
As you blend it onto your cheeks, you grab your phone. With your phone cradled between your ear and shoulder, you dial her number. “Hey Mom,” you say, your voice tinged with excitement. “Just getting ready for our lunch date! How’syour morning going?”
“OK, hold on, I need to be focused now.” You put the phone down and draw a line on your lids. “Why don’t you put on speaker?” your mom yells, just before you shout “See you soon,” and hang the phone down.
Now where were you? Oh yes, mascara (IMAO Gucci mascara is the best on the market at the moment), powder (I’musing Dior Forever Blooming Boudoir limited-edition cushion powder – you will love it!) and lipstick. Maybe a subtle red lip today? After all, it needs to complement the red dress.
Now, finally, the dress! I bought my mini red dress a while ago, but luckily, I was able to find a few similar for you – see the links below.
SHOES: Gucci Signorina slingbacks - buy here USA - buy here EU.
DRESS: RED Valentino dress - I bought mine last year and it's sold out. But you can shop for a similar Valentino dress here.
ACCESSORIES: Boho headwear headband - order here.
*When I pair items together, I always consider the balance between proportion, texture, and color harmony. While matching head-to-toe might seem obvious, there's strategy here: the patent leather's glossy finish contrasts beautifully with the dress's matte fabric, creating visual intrigue within the same color family.
The red mini dress keeps everything feeling fresh and current - essential for spring 2025 - while the short sleeves offer enough coverage for a daytime celebration without feeling flashy. Now, the bows at the front are what I call the "sweet spot detail" - they're positioned just below the neckline where they add visual interest without overwhelming the silhouette. The key is their size: not too big to appear costume-like, but substantial enough to be the dress's signature detail.
For this Mother's Day outfit, I paired the dress with the cherry lacquer red patent leather kitten heel slingback pumps because the glossy patent finish creates a sophisticated echo of the dress's polish, while the lower, more comfortable heel height prevents the overall look from feeling much for brunch. Remember, high heels should be worn later in the day.
The braided headband is the perfect style bridge. The textured weave introduces an element of handcrafted charm that softens the crisp formality of the patent leather, while maintaining the cohesive red color palette. The technique of varying textures within the same color family creates visual interest without overwhelming the eye.
Ps. In case it isn’t cold as forecasted on Friday when we are going to Mother’s Day lunch, my mom will wear this red dress from Likely – see her outfit below.
SHOES: Khaite red kitten heel pumps - buy here. She loves these shoes so much.
DRESS: red Likely dress - buy here.
BAG: red daytime clutch - buy here. It must be her favourite bag. Because my mother likes to have her hands full all the time. She rarely wears a tote and even where she wears a chain bag, she holds it in her hand like a clutch.
And here is a red Mother’s Day outfit for baby girl if you are having this Mother’s Day lunch with your mom and your own little princess.

BAG: red tweed bag - buy here.
2 PINK COLLAR SHORT DRESS WITH KITTEN HEEL PUMPS
Visualise this, sunlight streams through the window of your dressing room, illuminating your new dress: a short-sleeved dress with a charming Peter Pan collar. Btw mine is Red Valentino, but Maison Valentino has discontinued the line, so you will have to shop for this similar dress to copy my look. But it’s equally pretty and the price per wear is actually even lower than mine.
Also it’s in equally lovely shade- transcendent pink – not too bold, not too shy – and one of the most fashionable colours of the season - a perfect balance for a Mother’s Day lunch with your mom.
The embellished collar adds a touch of timeless whimsy, and it will frame your face with youthful elegance. The length creates a flattering and most importantly, fashionable silhouette, skimming your body gracefully and elongating your legs. You can practically picture yourself twirling in it.
Pair the dress with Valentino Garavani rockstud kitten heel slingback pumps. They are back in fashion. Also, the delicate rockstud detail adds a hint of edge, balancing the sweetness of the dress. And most importantly, they’re so comfortable! There is no need for a cab or Uber today; you can walk all the way to the restaurant in these shoes. Look at me in the video; I walked on the cobblestone streets to get to our favourite cafeteria.
Anyway, back to the plot.
Put on the shoes, grab your purse - it can be black or whatever colour you want – and go. Remember, there is no rule about matching the bag with shoes or clothes this season.
I promise you your walk to the cafeteria will be delight. The sun will warm your face, and a gentle breeze will carry the scent of blooming flowers and matcha latte as you reach the cafeteria with phone in hand to call your mom.
“Hey Mom,” you say, your voice brimming with excitement as. “Just about to head out. Are you already at the cafeteria?”
Your mom’s laughter rings through the receiver. “Just parked,” she replies. “Can’t wait to see you, honey!”
With a confident push, you open the door and step inside. The welcoming aroma of freshly baked bread and simmering sauces fills the air.
You spot a small table in the middle, a perfect spot for taking photos later. Pov, if you are a content creator, you know.
Just then, you see your mom coming around the corner. Her face lights up with a radiant smile as she spots you. “There you are!” she exclaims, quickening her pace.
You beam back, extending your arm as she approaches. “Hey Mom!” you greet, pulling her into a warm hug.
You make your way to the table, that little one in the center you chose earlier. You sit down, and pull out menus.
“What are you thinking of ordering?” you ask, glancing at your mom. “The quiche looks amazing today.”
Your mom chuckles, tilting the menu towards you. “That was definitely tempting, but I think I’ll stick with my classic cappuccino. How about you?”
You scan the menu again, savoring the options. “I came to eat – I will have …”

DRESS: Red Valentino dress - shop for similar dress here.
MAKEUP: Dior Lip balm - buy here.
*I always love how an embellished collar draws attention upward, making it perfect for brunch where you're seated most of the time. The short sleeves work in tandem with the collar to create a purposefully modest, "visiting mom" appropriate look without feeling prim.
Matching the kitten heel pumps in the exact transcendent pink creates a sleek, elongated line that makes legs appear miles long. I chose patent leather specifically because its reflective surface elevates the soft dress fabric, while the iconic Valentino rockstuds introduce just enough edge to prevent the outfit from feeling too sweet and childish.
Meanwhile, your princess will look so pretty in this Mommy and me outfit.

3 SHORT BLUE TWEED DRESS WITH CHUNKY MID HEEL SLINGBACKS
Impeccably decorated designs bring glamour to every social occasion. You will fall in love with my pretty blue tweed dress. It’s a gem and must buy of the season. Complete the look with Sézane blue babies.
SHOES: Sézane babies - buy here. I bought mine last year and have been wearing them the entire year way too much. They are quite comfortable. I only wish the finishes were done better. As someone who has 90% designer shoes, I expect more. But thinking better, the value per money is more than good.
DRESS: Self Portrait 60s style tweed dress with crystals - OK so my dress is actually sold out. I did buy it a while ago and I found precious alternatives. I think you will get obsessed with this butter yellow dress - it’s like mine minus the tweed and airy blue hue. Pair with these shoes - just like mine but in butter white. For blue and crystals - shop for this dress - like mine but not in tweed. Or go back to blue aura and get this blue tweed dress. It’s cute.
PERFUME: Chanel Paris Paris - buy here. It’s the perfume I wear the most.
*The 60s silhouette of the blue tweed dress creates a vintage charm while the crystal embellishment at the neckline adds contemporary sparkle.
Following the principle of textural significance, the tweed adds rich dimension and structured body to the shorter silhouette, ensuring the dress maintains sophistication despite it is short.
Pair with blue block mid heel slingbacks for cohesive coordination - keeping the footwear in the same color family as the dress creates a lengthening effect that balances the shorter hemline.
The 60s-inspired silhouette brings joy and festivity appropriate for Mother’s Day brunch, while the quality materials and thoughtful embellishments maintain the sophistication expected for such a significant holiday gathering.
Ps. You don’t need a bag. The dress has pockets, also, your mom is paying this time. Mentioning mom, for a matching mommy and me look, here is a tweed dress with short sleeves for your mother. And don’t tell my mom she is getting this dress for Mother’s Day as a gift from me. And the shoes, of course. But you might want to give her this bag – it goes so well with the tweed dress and the shoes. And omg, how pretty is this tweed dress for the girlies.
DRESS: tweed dress with short sleeves - buy here.
SHOES: white kitten heel shoes - buy here.
BAG: crossbody bag - buy here.
