This spring outfit edit was highly requested in the last three weeks. And I have a hunch at least 30% of the requests came from PR of the brands who make "comfortable shoes" and wanted me to need walkable shoes to make this outfit edit. Pov, they don't know I already have a closet full of walkable and comfortable shoes. POV at least comfortable, if not walkable as well. While I can walk more than 15 km in my Gucci kitten heels, Valentino rock studs and Gianvito Rossi stiletto pumps, I am not adding any city outfit with kitten or stiletto heels as they can easily get damaged on cobblestone streets. And don't even let me start about how many heels I ruined on the pavement on The Place de la Concorde.
Also, as strange as it sounds, I just don't want any other new shoes, but these Valentino, right now.
So, I decided not to reply to their messages at all. I know, not the best business practice, but still that's on them. If they had only checked one outfit edit, they would have known I have only comfortable and walkable shoes in my shoe closet.
Despite that, I can tell you about one brand that approached me, as one of my dearest friends has collaborated with them in the past and claims their shoes are truly walkable and comfortable. It's ALLY SHOES. But approach mindfully - I haven't tested them nor seen IRL. Hopefully, my friend was honest and those shoes are as comfortable as boujee. If I had decided to work with them (btw my policy is to work only with brands I have previously purchased from myself), I would have chosen this pair. They would go so well with many of the spring city outfits in this edit - especially with the 4th one.

CHIC SPRING CITY OUTFITS FOR RAINY DAY
Dress for the city in a sharply tailored trench coat that pairs well with denim and sneakers. At the same time, striped and silk shirts are elevated pieces for everyday that transition seamlessly from home to the street with ease.
1 STRIPED SHIRT AND WIDE-LEG JEANS WITH WEDGE SNEAKERS AND LONG GREY TRENCH COAT
Imagine thick air with the mingling scents of wet pavement (cringe, I find it quite unappealing, especially when mixed with the aroma of coffee and pastries - but this is the scenery we have today).
The rain taps on your umbrella as you walk on the cobblestone streets. You move with ease in your new wedge suede sneakers. The extra height gives you a little lift, keeping your long wide-leg jeans dry above the puddles, and the suede material holds up surprisingly well against the rain. Your steps feel cushioned and secure as you make your way to your favorite bakery.
Pushing open the glass door, you're greeted by a soft jingle from the bell above. Instantly, the rich aroma of freshly baked bread envelops you, layered with the scent of Brezen (pretzels) still cooling on racks.
You pause to inhale deeply, letting the comforting smell enter your nose as you wait your turn. It brings you a sense of comfort and familiarity.
“What can I get for you today?” asks a girl behind the counter with a friendly smile.
The golden croissants, gleaming under the soft lights, beckon invitingly. Those flaky layers practically plead to be torn apart. But Käsebrezen (click ♡ (LEFT-BOTTOM) to see me shopping for Käsebrezen in the video) tempt you as always. The melted salty cheese on bread - is there anything better? Hardly! Yet, you buy a baguette.
The girl behind the counter carefully slides your order into a paper bag, and you feel the comforting warmth of the freshly baked baguette through it.
With a baguette in your hand, you step back onto the street. The rain continues to fall in steady sheets, but it no longer bites as sharply.
SHOES: Isabel Marant Bobby Sneakers: buy here. I bought mine while living in Paris - my legs were super swollen on a daily and these sneakers were the only pair of shoes I could get my feet in. I still don’t know why my legs were so swollen all the time - but my life was super intense, and I was so tired all the time. Anyway, I have been wearing these sneakers way too much since the day I bought them. I have been wearing them even when they went out of style. And now they are finally back in fashion - pov, you know that already - you saw them in the Back in Fashion Spreadsheet - and I couldn’t be happier. These sneakers are the most comfortable sneakers I have ever had. They are so soft and they give you that extra lift you wish all the sneakers would give you. Plus, they are on the men repeller’s list, hence fashionable even more.
TRENCH COAT: Massimo Dutti long grey trench coat - buy here. Or even better, don’t and get this trench coat instead. I don’t like my trench coat that much for you to spend a $ on it. It’s just too expensive for the quality. The quality is not there. I don’t see it. And yes, this is coming from a girlie who has Burberry trench coats in her wardrobe. Pov, my Massimo Dutti might still be a better choice compared to other options out there. There is nothing extremely wrong with it. The stitches are ok. You can see in the collage - that’s a photo of my trench coat. I just don’t like the buckles on the belt to move. And the colour is off. It should be like this one or more olive.
TOP: With Nothing Under Neath striped shirt - buy here. It’s the best shirt you can buy. The quality is stunning. And the price is fair.
JEANS: A.P.C. Paris wide-leg jeans - buy here. I’m not sure if I can still write they are new. But they haven't been taken in yet and they are the last pair I bought. I bought them in my size, FR24, which is OK for me when shopping for A.P.C Paris standard and slim-fit jeans, but always too big for wide-leg and baggy jeans. Anyway, I'm obsessed with these jeans. And the reason why I haven't taken them to my seamstress yet is because I wear them on repeat. They are so soft - they are not made of Japanese denim like most of A.P.C. Paris jeans.
*This spring transitional look balances structure with comfort. The long grey trench creates a refined silhouette while offering practical protection from spring showers. I paired it with a striped button-down for a classic pattern that adds visual interest without overwhelming the outfit.
The dark wash wide-leg jeans introduce a 70s-inspired silhouette that elongates the legs while providing a sturdy foundation for the look. The high-waisted cut works perfectly with a partially tucked button-down to define your waistline.
For footwear, the taupe-olive Isabel Marant Bobby wedge sneakers offer both height and comfort - essential for city walking in long jeans - especially in the rain. These are the shoes you need for your long jeans to stay dry. The wedge design gives you elevation without sacrificing walkability, making them perfect for exploring the city in spring weather. Also, the neutral earthy tone complements the grey trench while adding a subtle color dimension.
EVERYDAY CITY SPRING OUTFITS FOR ERRANDS AROUND THE CITY
Use versatile separates to switch up day to day looks. White shirts can be paired with jeans or shorts as the seasons change, whilst ballet flats define the street chic.
2 BLACK QUILTED JACKET ON WHITE SHIRT AND BLUE SKINNY JEANS WITH MOCHA BROWN SUEDE SNEAKERS
Visualise this. You step into the farmer’s market as the morning sun spills golden light over the bustling stalls. The air hums with life—vendors hawking their wares, shoppers weaving through the crowd, and the rich scents of fresh produce swirling around you.
There’s the earthy aroma of root vegetables, the bright tang of citrus, and the sweet perfume of flowers coming from the corner (*you will get some flowers later on - I have a boujee outfit for that scenery for you as well).
Dressed in blue modern skinny jeans, a black quilted jacket, and simple old money brown suede sneakers, you’re ready for your first stop of the day: buying radicchio.
The market is a riot of color and texture. Stalls brim with vibrant vegetables—potatoes, red beets, and bundles of herbs tied with twine.
Your eyes are drawn to the greens. You spot a stall piled high with leafy treasures: arugula with its peppery bite, tender spinach, and sturdy kale, all glistening with morning dew. The vendor, a woman with a weathered smile and a wide-brimmed hat, notices your interest and waves you over.
“I’d like some radicchio, please—a mix of your freshest,” you say, gesturing toward the green and red radicchio. She nods and starts scooping up handfuls, the leaves rustling softly as she gathers them. You imagine her reaching for a paper bag—something simple, rustic, and fitting for the market’s charm.
But then, she pulls out a plastic bag instead. The thin, crinkly material glints in the sunlight as she slides the radicchios inside, sealing their freshness in a way that feels all wrong.
Your stomach twists a little. Plastic? It’s practical, sure, but it clashes with everything this place stands for—the natural beauty, the care for the earth, the handmade vibe. You wish she’d used a paper bag, something that would cradle the radicchio gently and let it breathe, not suffocate it in synthetic sheen. She ties the bag with a quick knot and hands it to you with a cheerful, “Here you go!” You muster a smile, take the bag and leave.
Obv, I have a fashionable basket bag for you. Buy here.
SHOES: Michael Kors suede sneakers - shop for similar here.
SOCKS: Calzedonia socks - shop for similar here.
JACKET: Barbour jacket - shop for a similar barn jacket here. It's from Barbour too, but it's not the same model. Mine is Toby and has a detachable hood. But you don't need a hooded jacket on a sunny day.
TOP: white silk shirt - shop for similar here. It’s ON SALE.
BOTTOM: A.P.C. Paris blue jeans - buy them here. They are modern skinny jeans with wider hem.
*This spring outfit balances old money textures with playful details. I chose the black quilted jacket as a lightweight yet protective layer that adds rich texture without the bulk of outerwear.
The white crepe silk shirt creates a luxurious foundation that elevates the entire outfit. The natural drape of silk offers refinement, while the crisp white brightens the look for spring and creates clean contrast against the black jacket.
For the bottom half, the blue modern skinny jeans with wider, cropped hems create an intentional break in the silhouette. The cropped cut draws attention to the ankle area, which is why the frilled, patterned socks are crucial—they fill the gap between jeans and sneakers while adding personality to the outfit.
The mocha brown suede sneakers ground the look with their earthy tone and soft texture. Suede adds a tactile quality that echoes the quilted jacket, creating bookends of texture that frame the outfit. The warm brown complements the blue jeans while adding a sophisticated neutral that's more fitting than black or white footwear in this case.
3 WHITE SILK SHIRT UNDER A STRIPED CARDIGAN AND TURN UP NAVY SHORTS WITH GOLDEN BALLET FLATS AND A BRAIDED HEADBAND
Leaving the crowded main path behind, you turn into a narrow side street by the church. The light here is diffused, softened by the church's rooftop, tossing playful shadows on the worn cobblestones.
Dressed in navy blue turn-up shorts, golden ballet flats, a striped cardigan over a white crepe silk shirt, and a stylish headband, you feel a sense of calm away from the bustling crowd.
“Searching for something special?” someone asks.
You nod, your eyes already locked on the pink ranunculus. The petals, soft and velvety, unfurl in perfect layers, and their blush-pink hue glows with a tender vibrancy. You reach out, brushing your fingers against them, and a faint fragrance rises—clean and green.
“Ranunculus are a beautiful pick,” the vendor says, his hands already gathering the choicest stems. “They carry charm and grace—perfect for a little joy, whether it’s for you or someone else.”
The vendor wraps the bouquet in brown kraft paper. “Here you are, that's 10,” he says, handing it to you with a gentle nod. “May these brighten your day.” You take it, tucking it into the crook of your arm as you put away your wallet. Btw, I took my wallet out of my bag to get the banknotes out from the bottom of my purse. Ha, I never have banknotes or coins in my wallet. I normally just stack them into the bag, it's usually more accessible to have money out of your wallet. But I was at the cafeteria earlier.
SHOES: golden ballet flats - OK, forget about my golden ballet flats. They are comfortable and walkable, but you will get obsessed with these ballet flats more. And yes, all the shoes from that brand that I have (I have three at the time of writing this) are very comfortable.
CARDIGAN: striped cardigan - shop for similar here. *And it doesn’t come with pockets like mine. Oh, I hate those pockets on my cardigan. They make my cardigan impossible to wear as a cardigan sweater. I can’t tuck it in. *POV I should probably buy this cardigan for myself as well. Or get this one with short sleeves that will transition well into summer paired with a simple tank top.
TOP: white silk shirt - shop for similar here. It’s ON SALE.
SHORTS: Sandro Paris tailored shorts - buy here. I bought mine there, too. *I had mine taken in. So take your normal size.
ACCESSORIES: OK, I won't gatekeep where I bought my headband even though I don't get a commission for your purchase at Boho headwear. But Špela, the designer, is my friend, so I’m happy to promote her business. Also, she makes the most comfortable headbands yet. I can wear the headbands she makes all day long.
*I've reintroduced the white crepe silk shirt as the foundation again - and no, not to show you how one quality piece can transition between multiple looks, but because it was the first thing I saw - I was running late, again. Whatsoever, a white crepe chine silk shirt provides the perfect canvas for building different outfits. And it works most of the time.
The striped cardigan adds an old money element that's quintessentially spring. The pattern creates visual interest while the cardigan offers just enough warmth for those changeable spring days.
Navy blue turn-up shorts bring a tailored element to the outfit while keeping it seasonally appropriate. The turn-up detail adds a touch of intentional styling, while the navy creates a classic color pairing with the white shirt. The shorter length makes this outfit perfect for warmer spring days while remaining boujee.
The golden round ballet flats introduce an unexpected element of shine that elevates the entire look. They reference classic style while the metallic finish adds contemporary flair—proving that comfortable footwear doesn't have to be casual. The rounded toe adds to the softness of the cardigan, creating cohesion throughout the outfit.
The braided headband is, again, a practical and stylish finishing touch, keeping hair in place during city walks while adding textural interest at eye level. Also, it draws attention upward, framing the face and creating a balanced silhouette from head to toe.
